INTRODUCTION TO SECURITY TECHNOLOGY

Security System
A Security System, or sometimes referred to as an "Alarm System" is a collection of devices and technologies designed to detect and deter if someone makes unwanted entrance to your home or business. Usually consists of devices such as a Keypad, Door/Window Sensors, Motion Detectors, and Glass breakage sensors. Available in wired or wireless options.

Surveillance System
A Surveillance System, or sometimes called a "Camera System" is made up of one or more video camera's to monitor and record footage around the interior/exterior of your home or business. They are available in wired or wireless options, and can be programmed to record at specific times, or only when movement is detected.

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
A professionally installed Smoke Detector is designed to detect the carbon particles that make up the smoke from a fire. Carbon Monoxide Detectors detect lethal odorless fumes in the air. With our expertise, we can link both to your Security System - thus triggering alarm and action in the case of a fire, or carbon monoxide.

Medical Alert Devices
Medical Alert Devices, sometimes referred to as "Medical Pendants" are lifesaving pieces of technology. Options include table top devices, wearable bracelets, and necklaces. These devices can detect falls, lack of movement, or simply serve as a quick button to press in case of a medical emergency - triggering 911 services.

Monitoring
Monitoring is a service that links your Security System to an Alarm Monitoring Center. The purpose of Alarm Monitoring is to ensure that your home or business is always being watched over. In the instance that you have a fire or someone breaks into your home or business, your system will send a signal to alert and dispatch the proper authorities.

Takeover
A Takeover simply refers to a Security companies ability to use your pre-existing equipment, thus saving you money. For example: you already have a security system in your home or business but aren't satisfied with the service you are getting and want a new security provider. The new provider of your choice should attempt to "takeover" your existing system.
